Why Midwife Connect was created

Midwife Connect was created to bridge the gap between NHS maternity care and the support women and families need during pregnancy and return to work - driven by a commitment to improving outcomes for women and addressing gender inequality in the workplace.

While NHS care provides essential clinical support, many women need more time, continuity, and a safe space to talk through their experiences - particularly when balancing pregnancy with work and the demands of modern life.

With the right support in place, many of the challenges experienced during pregnancy can be better understood, managed, and, in some cases, reduced. Midwife Connect was developed to provide consistent, personalised support throughout pregnancy and early parenthood from someone with clinical expertise - something that can be difficult to achieve within existing systems

“As a midwife, I saw the difference that consistent, trusted support can make to confidence, wellbeing, and overall experience.

Midwife Connect was developed to provide that support in a way that works alongside both healthcare services and the workplace.”

About

Midwife Connect was founded by a registered NHS midwife with experience supporting individuals throughout pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

This work highlighted the need for greater time, continuity, and personalised care - particularly when balancing pregnancy with work and everyday demands.

Midwife Connect was developed to meet that need in a way that works alongside both healthcare services and the workplace.
